Communities
Buzzio Communities are Discord-style shared spaces — not a single group thread. One community can hold categories, text channels, roles, events, invites, and moderation tools.
Why communities exist
Friends and teams often need more than one chat room: announcements, discussion, files chatter, and scheduled sessions. Communities give you that structure while staying honest about storage: this is a shared-history product with server-held keys so late joiners and multi-device use work.
What’s inside
- Categories and text channels (open or password-locked)
- Roles — Everyone, Creator, Creator Admin, plus custom roles
- Events with title, time, repeat, location, and non-anonymous Interested RSVPs
- Invites (link, QR, or community ID) with optional password and member approval
- Moderation — bans, join requests, audit tools where you have permission
Member cap is up to about 10,000. This build focuses on text channels (no voice channels).
Privacy label (read this)
Communities are not the same secrecy model as sealed 1-to-1 or E2E groups. Content is encrypted in transit and at rest under the community model, but Buzzio holds keys so shared history can work. We still do not sell community data.
