Bitcoin Wallet
Buzzio includes an optional non-custodial Bitcoin wallet. Nothing exists until you activate it. Age for wallet features: 18+.
Why a wallet in a messenger
Some people want to send value the same place they already keep private contacts — without a custodial exchange holding their coins. Buzzio’s wallet is opt-in and derived from keys you already protect.
How keys work
- Keys are derived locally on a separate BIP-84 (Native SegWit) path.
- The wallet uses the same 12-word recovery phrase as messaging.
- Buzzio never holds your funds or private keys.
Critical: anyone with your phrase can control messaging keys and Bitcoin. Protect it accordingly.
Activation
- Confirm you backed up the phrase.
- Pass a short phrase challenge.
- Unlock with device screen lock (biometric / PIN).
Then you can receive (QR / address), transfer, and review recent transactions. Optional wallet PIN and advanced security settings are available.
Contacts and chain data
Mutual contacts who also enabled the wallet may see a public receive address to send BTC between contacts. Blockchain lookups (and optional fiat prices) use public chain/network data — that is how Bitcoin works.
What the wallet is not
- Not required to use Buzzio chat
- Not a custodial exchange
- Not the same product as Private Vault or Rocket Drop
