Privacy and Security

Buzzio privacy settings control who can find you, who can add you, and how locked the app and individual chats are. Smart Inbox (Premium) hides 1-to-1 chats from people who are not in your contacts until you accept.

Use these tools when you want less discovery, a lock screen on the app, or a quieter inbox.

Get started

  1. Open Profile.
  2. Open Privacy for last seen, photo, description, Buzzio ID, username, and who can add you to groups.
  3. Open Advanced security for Smart Inbox, Stealth Stories, app lock, and hidden chats.
  4. Run Privacy check if you want a guided review.

App lock

  1. Open Privacy or Advanced security.
  2. Turn on App lock and set a PIN, or use device biometrics (fingerprint / Face ID).
  3. Keep a way to unlock that you will remember. Use the in-app forgot flow if your device allows it — it will not recover a lost 12-word phrase.

Hide or lock a chat

  1. Open the contact or chat info.
  2. Choose Hide chat or Lock chat (biometric lock when offered).
  3. Hidden chats leave the main list. Recover them from Advanced security or Recover hidden chats.

Smart Inbox (Premium)

  1. Open Profile → Advanced security.
  2. Turn on Smart Inbox.
  3. Chats from people who are not in your contacts wait there until you accept.
  4. Accept to move the chat into your main inbox, or ignore / block.

If the setting cannot be verified, Buzzio keeps the safer default (the filter stays on the safe side).

Block and report

  • Block from contact info or Privacy → Block contacts. Blocks stop delivery and calling on that private relationship.
  • Report from the chat or space. Community admins also have bans and audit tools.

Tips and limits

  • Field-level privacy (last seen, photo, ID) is per item — “Nobody” hides that field.
  • Stealth Stories is a Premium toggle: you can view stories without appearing on the author’s who-viewed list.
  • Name color is a Premium profile perk.
  • Capture blocking (Secure View) is strongest on Android; treat other platforms as best-effort.

Troubleshooting

Smart Inbox is missing or will not stay on

  • Smart Inbox is a Premium perk. Subscribe, then reopen Advanced security.
  • Restore purchases if you already paid on this Google or Apple account.
  • After subscribe, wait a moment and pull to refresh the screen.

I hid a chat and cannot find it

Open Advanced security or Recover hidden chats. Unlock with PIN / biometrics if asked.

App lock will not accept my PIN

Use the in-app forgot / reset path if shown. That does not restore your 12-word phrase. If you also forgot the phrase and have no backup, that identity cannot be recovered by Buzzio.

People still add me or see my ID

Tighten Privacy for Buzzio ID, username, and who can add you to groups. Changes apply to new lookups — people who already saved you may still have the contact.
