Status and Reliability

Buzzio aims to keep messaging, calls, and feeds available for everyday use. This page explains reliability, what to try during a glitch, and how larger incidents are communicated.

Get started

  1. If something fails, try the quick checks below.
  2. Check this Status page (or announcements on buzzio.dev) for known incidents.
  3. If the issue is only on your account or device, see FAQ or Contact and support.

What status covers

AreaExamples
MessagingSending / receiving 1-to-1 or group messages
CallsVoice / video connect and media quality
Shared surfacesCommunities, broadcast feeds, Stories, Whisper
Sign-inCreating or restoring an account
PushNotification delivery delays
Web Whisper QuestionsOpening ask links and sending answers

Small, single-user issues (wrong mute setting, outdated app) are usually not site-wide incidents.

Quick checks before assuming an outage

  1. Update Buzzio to the latest version.
  2. Confirm internet connectivity (try Wi-Fi and mobile data).
  3. Force-close and reopen the app.
  4. Check phone notification permission and in-app mute settings.
  5. Try another surface (for example Chat vs Channels) to see if only one feature is affected.
  6. If sign-in fails, confirm you are using Buzzio ID + 12-word phrase (not a phone OTP).

When we post an incident

For wider problems we aim to publish a short note with:

  • What is affected
  • When it started (approx.)
  • What we know / what we are doing
  • When it was resolved

Treat this page and buzzio.dev announcements as the source of truth. Use email for account-specific failures.

Reliability principles

  • Sealed private chat is designed as a relay, not a permanent cloud inbox — brief delivery delays can happen while devices are offline.
  • Shared surfaces (communities, broadcast, Questions) depend on online service availability by nature.
  • Optional features (cloud backup, contact sync, GIF search, wallet price lookups) may depend on partners; a partner blip does not always mean Buzzio chat is down.
  • We do not trade reliability work for selling your message data — outages are ops problems, not monetization events.

Tips and limits

  • Offline devices cannot receive live messages until they reconnect; sealed relays also purge undelivered traffic on a short schedule (about 3 days for private 1-to-1 leftovers).
  • Call quality depends heavily on both networks; try switching Wi-Fi / mobile if audio stutters.
  • Report recurring crashes with Report a Bug and your device model / OS version — or use Help & Feedback.
  • For abuse or privacy rights, use Contact and support — those are not status incidents.
