Stories

Buzzio Stories are short-lived status posts — photo, video, text, or voice — that disappear after about 24 hours. They live on the Story tab (next to Call), not inside a private chat thread.

Use Stories to share a moment with your contacts or a chosen audience. Someone who replies sends a private message into your normal 1-to-1 chat — not a public comment thread.

Get started

  1. Open the Story tab in Buzzio.
  2. Tap My Stories / add (+) to post, or tap a colored ring under Recent updates to view someone else’s story.
  3. After posting, your story stays in your stack until it expires or you remove it.

Create a story

From Add story you can post:

  • Text — text-only with fonts and background colors
  • Layout — multi-photo collage (up to 6 photos)
  • Voice — voice note (up to 60 seconds)
  • Photo or video from Recents, gallery, camera, or folder picker

Then:

  1. Edit in the full-screen preview (crop, draw, text; trim video when offered).
  2. Add an optional caption.
  3. Optionally Tag people (up to 20). Tags do not put their name into the story text, and tagging does not override your audience rules.
  4. Choose who can see it.
  5. Post. Several selected items can go up as a stack (each item is its own story).

You can keep about 20 live stories in your stack at once. Viewers swipe between them.

Choose who can see it

Before you post, pick an audience (you can save defaults):

AudienceWho can see
My contactsMutual synced contacts
My contacts except…Contacts minus people you exclude (max 100)
Only share with…People you pick from synced contacts (max 100; at least one)
EveryoneSynced contacts plus people who find you by @username (you need a username)

Important rules:

  • Contact-style audiences need contact sync turned on.
  • For contact audiences, mutual save usually matters — they often need you saved too.
  • Everyone is wider discovery through username and profile rings. It is not a global public Explore feed of every Buzzio user.
  • Only you (the author) can see the Viewers list and view count.

View stories

On the Story tab:

  • Recent updates — colored ring means new or unseen
  • Viewed updates — already opened
  • Tap a ring for the full-screen viewer, then tap or swipe through that person’s stack

Opening a story usually counts as a view the author can see.

Replies and viewers

  • There are no emoji “like” reactions on Stories.
  • Use the bottom Reply… field to message the author in 1-to-1 chat.
  • As the author, open Viewers to see who viewed.

How privacy works for Stories

  • Stories are not the same as a sealed private chat. Audience choice, views, and delivery need some server-side data so the feature can work.
  • Story media is encrypted on your device before upload. Buzzio is not building a public archive of your stories for sale or ads.
  • Stories expire after about 24 hours and are meant to disappear from the product after that window.
  • New stories usually show as a silent ring update — not a banner that previews the photo or video.
  • If someone tags you, you can get an alert like “{name} tagged you in a story.”

Tips and limits

  • Lifetime: about 24 hours.
  • Video and voice: max about 60 seconds.
  • Media file: max about 50 MB.
  • Tags: max 20. Audience exclude / select: max 100 each.
  • Layout collage: max 6 photos. Live stack: about max 20.
  • Turn on contact sync in Privacy settings if contact pickers look empty.
  • Everyone requires an @username.

Related features

  • 1-to-1 chat — where story replies land.
  • Whisper Questions — anonymous ask links, not status rings.
  • Broadcast Channels — longer admin feeds for many followers, not 24-hour stories.
