Encrypted Calls
Buzzio private calls let you place voice and video calls with someone in 1-to-1 chat. Setup is encrypted, media is meant to travel device-to-device when networks allow, and Buzzio does not keep a server recording you can play back later.
Use calls when you want a live conversation with the same private-chat trust model — without turning the call into a cloud archive.
Get started
- Open a 1-to-1 chat with the person you want to call.
- Tap the voice or video call control in that chat.
- Or open the Call tab to see recent local call history and return to people you have called.
During a call you can mute, use speaker, turn the camera on or off, flip camera, and end the call.
What a Buzzio call includes
- Voice and video for private 1-to-1 conversations
- In-call controls: mute, speaker, camera, flip, end
- A Call tab for recent calls stored on your device
Buzzio does not offer screen share in the current call controls.
How privacy works for calls
- Call setup (the “ring / connect” path) is encrypted and is not kept as a permanent call dossier.
- Call audio and video use peer-to-peer connection when possible. A relay is used only when networks need help connecting.
- We do not record calls. There is no Buzzio server playback archive of your call audio or video.
- The call history you see in the app lives on your device. The Call tab hides older records after about 24 hours.
- When nothing needs to stay for an active setup, private calls are treated like other sealed surfaces: no lasting server file of who called whom for browsing.
Tips and limits
- Calls are part of private 1-to-1 chat — start from a chat, or return through the Call tab.
- Keep a stable network for the best voice and video quality.
- If someone blocks you, you generally cannot keep calling them through that private relationship.
- Your on-device call list is for convenience; it is not a Buzzio cloud call archive.
Related features
- 1-to-1 chat — the same private surface where message history and call buttons live.
- Whisper private chat — time-limited QR sessions for messaging; not the main place to start lasting voice/video identity calls.
- Notifications — turn call alerts on or off in notification settings, and set a call ringtone.
