Safety and Moderation
Buzzio includes tools to stop unwanted contact and keep shared spaces usable: block, report, community bans, channel moderation, and audit logs. These tools exist so people can stay safe — not so Buzzio can sell your private conversations.
Get started
- Open Privacy settings for Block contacts and Privacy check.
- In a chat, group, community, channel, or broadcast, use overflow actions to Report when something breaks the rules.
- If you run a community, open community settings for bans, permissions, and the Audit Log.
Block someone
- Open Privacy → Block contacts / Blocked users.
- Add the person you want to block — or block from their profile / chat actions when available.
- Unblock later from the same blocked list if you change your mind.
Blocking is for stopping ongoing private contact. It is separate from reporting (you can report and block together when the app offers both).
Report a person
When you report a user, choose a reason such as:
- Spam
- Harassment or bullying
- Hate speech
- Inappropriate content
- Impersonation
- Scam or fraud
- Other
The report flow may attach a small set of recent local messages as evidence (about the last 5). Use report for abuse — not for ordinary disagreements.
Report shared spaces
You can also report:
- A community
- A community channel
- A group
- A broadcast channel
On Whisper Questions web answer pages, open Report if a question link is abusive.
Community moderation tools
If you have permission in a community, you can typically:
- Remove or ban members (Banned members)
- Delete other people’s messages where allowed
- Pin or unpin messages
- Lock or password-protect sensitive channels
- Manage roles and channel access
- Review an Audit Log of privileged actions (join / leave / ban / roles / deletes and similar events), when your role allows it
Audit logs help trusted admins see what changed — they are for governance inside the community, not a public feed of private 1-to-1 chats.
Privacy check
Open Privacy check for a short summary of who can see personal fields such as your Buzzio ID, username, photo, bio, and last seen. Tighten the fields you care about before you share your ID widely.
Bug reports vs abuse reports
- Report a Bug (Help & Feedback) is for app problems.
- Report on people / spaces is for safety and rule breaking.
Use the right path so real abuse gets handled quickly.
Tips and limits
- Block stops contact; report asks Buzzio / moderators to review behavior.
- Community power depends on roles — not every member can ban or open the audit log.
- Whisper Questions answers are anonymous to the owner; use web Report for abusive links.
- Safety tools may keep limited operational records. That is not the same as a readable private-chat archive for sealed 1-to-1 traffic.
- If you are in immediate danger offline, contact local emergency services — the app is not a substitute for that.
