By using web.buzzio.dev, you agree to these Web Terms and our Web Privacy Policy. The site is a phone-approved companion for shared rooms only. It is not sealed chat. Your phone stays in control of the session. Do not abuse the service. We do not sell your data.

1. Acceptance / who we are

These Web Terms & Conditions (“Web Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you (“you”) and the Buzzio Team (“we”, “us”) — currently an unincorporated operator of Buzzio and related services. We may assign these Web Terms to a future registered legal entity; we will update this section with that entity’s legal name and address when that happens.

By accessing or using https://web.buzzio.dev (the “Web Companion”), you agree to these Web Terms and the Web Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Web Companion.

These Web Terms are specific to the Web Companion. They supplement — and do not replace — the full Buzzio Terms & Conditions for the mobile app and other services. If there is a conflict about the Web Companion, these Web Terms control for that surface; otherwise the main Terms apply.

1.1 Changes

We may update these Web Terms at any time. The Last Updated date will change. For material changes, we will provide notice when appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Web Terms, except where mandatory consumer law requires a different acceptance method.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Buzzio, including the Web Companion.
If you are under 18 (or the age of legal majority where you live), a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Web Terms on your behalf.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn a user is under 13, we will terminate the account / session.

3. What the Web Companion is

The Web Companion is a phone-approved, time-boxed linked browser session that can access shared Buzzio surfaces within the scopes granted at link time, typically including:

Linking uses a dual-QR flow on your phone. Sessions expire after the duration you approve. Only one active web session is allowed per account; a new link replaces the prior one. You can revoke from the phone anytime.

The Web Companion is a communications tool. We provide features; you control your conduct. We do not sell your data.

4. What the Web Companion is not

The Web Companion does not include, and you must not expect:

Sealed 1:1 end-to-end private chat
E2E groups or Whisper private chat
Encrypted calls
Private Vault, recovery phrase entry, or messaging keys in the browser
Exclusive device login that replaces your phone session controls

Buzzio does not claim that browser access equals the phone sealed client. See Why E2E chat is not on the web.

5. Account & session rules

Your phone is the authority for approving, timing, and revoking the web session.
Treat the session token like a browser credential: do not share it, publish it, or let others use your linked browser.
You are responsible for activity that occurs through your linked session until it expires or is revoked.
We may refuse, suspend, or end a web session for abuse, security risk, or Terms violations.
Clearing browser storage or closing the tab may end local access; revoke on the phone to invalidate the server session.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Harass, scam, phish, threaten, or otherwise abuse people
Post or share illegal content, including child sexual abuse material
Spam, scrape, crawl, or overload the Web Companion or related APIs
Bypass rate limits, scopes, or session controls
Impersonate Buzzio, other users, or bots
Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, rooms, or systems
Use the Web Companion to violate the main Buzzio Terms, Community Guidelines, or applicable law

We may remove content, restrict features, revoke sessions, or suspend accounts where we can and where appropriate. Nothing here requires us to monitor sealed surfaces we cannot read.

7. Shared rooms, moderation & user conduct

Open-history groups, Communities, and Broadcast are shared by design: TLS in transit, content stored so the product works, and Buzzio can read that content. They are not E2E.

Buzzio is a platform. We provide tools (for example block / report / admin roles where available). We do not guarantee other people’s behavior. Scams, harassment, illegal activity, or harmful content by other users are primarily those users’ responsibility, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

Using Buzzio — including the Web Companion — is at your own risk. Do not send money, secrets, or intimate media to people you do not trust.

8. Third-party bots on web

Where the bot scope is enabled, you may open service bot DMs on the Web Companion.

Bot chats are not end-to-end encrypted.
Ordinary bot message retention and media rules follow the main Privacy Policy / Bot Privacy.
Third-party bot developers are generally independent controllers of copies they receive (for example via webhook or API). Buzzio does not control their servers.
A link or payment prompt inside a bot message is the developer’s site or offer unless we clearly say otherwise. Bot premium is not offered by Buzzio as an IAP for third-party bots.

9. Premium session durations

Buzzio Premium (purchased in the mobile app stores) may unlock a longer web session duration (currently 14 days). The Web Companion does not process card payments itself. Entitlements come from the phone / store account as described in the main Terms. Cancel Premium in Google Play or Apple Subscriptions as applicable.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

The Web Companion is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except where mandatory law says otherwise.

IN NO EVENT shall we be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of profits, data, or goodwill; unauthorized access; other users’ content or conduct; or service interruption — even if advised of the possibility.

Maximum liability cap: Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of these Web Terms or the Web Companion shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or ten US dollars (USD $10.00), whichever is greater — consistent with the main Terms.

Nothing in these Web Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of your country of residence (including certain consumer protections).

You also agree to the indemnification and platform acknowledgments in the main Terms to the extent they apply to your use of the Web Companion.

11. Governing law, disputes & contact

These Web Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may still apply and take precedence where required.

Dispute process (informal notice → arbitration in Sri Lanka where allowed; class waiver where allowed; consumer mandatory rights preserved) follows §28 of the main Terms & Conditions.
