Introduction
Topics you can find again — where you already talk.
Hashtag search lets you tap or search #topics in supported chats, groups, and Broadcast feeds. Global search can surface matches too. Visibility always follows the original surface — a hashtag does not suddenly make a private chat public.
Hashtags organize discovery inside spaces you can already access. They are not a public Buzzio Twitter-style firehose of everyone’s sealed chats.
Why Buzzio is best for hashtags
Tap to follow a topic
Hit a #tag in a message and jump toward other matches on that surface.
Search too
Type a hashtag in search to surface matches — including global search where the product allows it.
Chats, groups, Broadcast
Works across supported chats, groups, and Broadcast feeds — not a single-room gimmick.
Visibility follows surface
You only find tags in places you already have access to — sealed stays sealed; public stays public.
Lightweight labeling
No separate “topic channel” required — drop a hashtag in the message when the thread needs a handle.
Honest scope
Not every historical surface indexes the same way — use the in-app search UI as the source of truth.
What you get
- Tap #topics
- Search tags
- Chats & groups
- Broadcast feeds
- Surface visibility
- In-thread labels
How it works
How to use
Write with a tag
Include a #topic in a message on a supported chat, group, or Broadcast post.
Tap the hashtag
Tap the #topic in the bubble to explore related matches where the surface supports it.
Or search
Open search and type the hashtag — global search can surface matches you can already access.
Jump back in
Open a result to return to the conversation or feed where that topic appeared.
Where it works
Hashtag search is documented for supported chats, groups, and Broadcast feeds. Community and other shared rooms may show tags in text the same way — discovery still respects membership and channel permissions.
Search & tap
Tap in-thread
- Tap a #topic in a message
- Stay oriented in that conversation world
- Fast when you already see the tag
Search
- Type #topic in search
- Global search may list matches
- Still limited to what you can access
Boundaries
Visibility
Visibility follows the original surface. A hashtag in a sealed 1:1 does not become a public Buzzio trend. A tag in a public Broadcast feed is as visible as that feed already is. Membership and permissions still gate shared rooms.
Tags are labels — not a bypass of chat privacy.
What hashtags do not mean
They are not a global public square of every Buzzio message. They do not replace folders (use custom chat lists for inbox structure). They do not magically index media-only posts without text. And search quality depends on what was actually written with a #tag.
Tips
- Pick short, consistent tags for recurring room topics
- Use search when you remember the tag but not the chat
- Do not put secrets in public Broadcast hashtags
- Use chat lists for inbox folders — hashtags for in-thread topics
