Buzzio Broadcast Channels

One-to-many updates for creators and orgs — admins post, followers read, react, and vote. Not a megaphone group chat. Not sold as end-to-end encrypted.

Introduction

Announce to many — without opening a free-for-all chat.

Broadcast Channels are publisher feeds. Create a channel with a name, @handle, category, and Public / Unpublic choice. Up to 5 admins compose posts — text, photos, video, voice, and polls. Followers follow, read, react, and vote. They do not flood the channel with replies. Scale toward 100,000 followers per channel.

We do not sell broadcast data. Never. Not posts. Not reactions. Not follower maps. Not search indexes.

Why Buzzio is best for broadcast

Discover or stay quiet

Public channels appear in search and category browse. Unpublic stays link / follow only.

Admin-only publishing

One voice (or a small admin team). No follower spam in the feed.

Fresh 30-day window

Server post history ages out around 30 days — a rolling feed, not a forever archive.

Muted by default

Notifications stay off until the follower opts in. Quiet follow is the default.

Anonymous engagement

Reaction and poll tallies without a public “who clicked” list for followers.

Follower privacy

Admins see a count — not a browseable follower address book.

What you get

  • @handle & categories
  • Public / unpublic
  • Up to 5 admins
  • Text · media · polls
  • Reactions
  • ~30-day retention
  • Opt-in notifications
  • Up to 100K followers

How it works

Admin publishing

  1. Create the channel

Set name, unique @handle, category (General, News, Sports, Tech, Entertainment, Business), and Public or Unpublic.

  2. Add admins

Creator plus admins — max 5 total. Only they can compose and publish.

  3. Post updates

Text, image, video, voice, or polls (up to 4 options). Followers have no free-post input — by design.

  4. Share the feed

Deep links and QR open a preview (name, bio, follower count) → Follow → feed.

Public & unpublic

Public ON

  • Search channels
  • Category browse
  • Trending / regional rails
  • Directory metadata only

Unpublic

  • Not in open directory
  • Share link / invite / known handle
  • Same admin publishing model
  • Same follower privacy rules

Search indexes channel metadata — not post bodies and not individual follower IDs.

Reactions & polls

Followers who follow can react with emoji and vote on polls. Others see anonymous tallies and aggregate option counts — not a public who-reacted list. Integrity records may exist server-side to stop spam voting. That is engagement with a publisher — not a two-way chat graph on the sealed E2E surface.

30-day rolling feed

Durable post history prunes around 30 days. Older updates leave the shared server feed. Channel profile, follower relationships, and counts live with the channel while it exists. Media boot tiers expand publishing quota — they do not turn broadcast into multi-year cloud journaling.

Fresh updates. Not a permanent newspaper archive of every post.

Boundaries

Honest encryption

Broadcast is not E2E like 1:1, Whisper, or E2E groups. Posts use a server-managed channel key so one publish can reach many devices and late opens can catch up within the retention window. Buzzio can operate the feed when the product needs it. Transport rides TLS; access still requires admin or follower relationship. For operator-blind bodies, use sealed chat surfaces instead.

Broadcast vs group chat

Broadcast

  • Admin posts only
  • Reactions & polls
  • ~30-day rolling feed
  • Up to 100K followers

Groups / Communities

  • Members converse
  • Replies & room history
  • Longer shared rooms
  • Roles & moderation

Tips

  • Keep notifications muted for quiet follows; opt in only when you want alerts
  • Use Unpublic + share link for campaigns that should not sit in open search
  • Need two-way discussion? Use Communities or Social groups — not Broadcast
  • Need sealed messaging? Use 1:1, Whisper, or E2E groups
