Introduction
Bitcoin next to messaging — without Buzzio custody.
The Buzzio wallet is opt-in. Chat works without it. When you activate, keys stay on your device. Buzzio is not a bank, not an exchange, and not a money transmitter for your coins — we never receive your private keys or recovery phrase.
We do not hold your Bitcoin. We cannot freeze, reverse, or recover a spend. Age gate: 18+.
Why Buzzio is best for an in-app wallet
Non-custodial
Private keys never leave your device as a Buzzio-held balance. You custody the wallet.
Phrase you already keep
Activate from your 12-word recovery phrase — or import an external BIP-39 wallet on-device only.
Separate from chat keys
Bitcoin uses BIP-84 Native SegWit paths. Messaging keys are not reused to spend coins.
Wallet PIN
Set a wallet PIN after activate — separate from app lock unless you choose the same digits.
Optional by design
Not created at signup. Open Profile → Wallet when you want it — after the 18+ gate.
Honest on-chain reality
Fees and confirmations are Bitcoin’s. Chat “zero metadata” claims do not apply to on-chain activity.
What you get
- Opt-in wallet
- 18+ age gate
- Activate from phrase
- Import BIP-39
- Native SegWit
- Wallet PIN
- Receive QR / address
- Send on-chain
- Up to 3 wallets
How it works
Activate or import
Open Wallet
Go to Profile → Wallet and pass the 18+ age confirmation.
Activate Buzzio Wallet
Derive keys from your account recovery phrase after a phrase challenge and device unlock — or import an external 12-word BIP-39 wallet (stays on-device; not published to Buzzio).
Set a wallet PIN
Protect spend and sensitive wallet actions with a PIN you control.
Receive or send
Share an address or QR to receive. Send with network fees and confirmations on Bitcoin — not Buzzio chat delivery.
Keys and phrase
Buzzio-derived wallet keys use BIP-84 Native SegWit paths. When you activate the Buzzio Wallet, the same 12-word phrase that restores messaging can also control funds on that separate path. Imported wallets stay local — Buzzio does not publish those seeds.
Losing the phrase can mean losing both identity restore and wallet funds you activated from it. Write it down offline.
Send and receive
Receive with an address or QR. Send on-chain like any non-custodial wallet. Mutual contacts who also enabled the wallet may see a public receive address for peer sends. Chain sync and optional fiat hints can use public explorers or price APIs — that is network data, not Buzzio custody.
Wallets and limits
Capacity
- Up to 3 wallets total
- 1 Buzzio Wallet + up to 2 imported
- Nicknames up to 24 characters
- Native SegWit v0 addresses
Not included
- Buzzio cannot reverse a spend
- Premium does not insure coins
- Not a custodian or exchange
Boundaries
Wallet vs sealed chat
Sealed chat
- Blind relay for ciphertext
- Delete-on-delivery goals
- Zero durable chat metadata aims
Bitcoin wallet
- Public blockchain settlement
- Fees and confirmations on-chain
- Addresses and amounts are visible on Bitcoin
What the wallet does not mean
It is not required for messaging. It is not Private Vault or Rocket Drop. It is not a bank account Buzzio can freeze for you. On-chain activity is public by nature. And if you lose the phrase that controls funds — with no other backup of those keys — those coins are gone.
Tips
- Only activate if you are 18+ and understand Bitcoin risk
- Write the 12-word phrase offline before you fund the wallet
- Use a strong wallet PIN; do not share it with support
- Start with small amounts while you learn fees and confirmations
- Read the Bitcoin wallet article
Ready for non-custodial Bitcoin?
